START Initiative
Solutions for Training and Agricultural Resources Transformation
START Initiative is a Zambian non-profit organisation empowering rural youth and women with practical skills in climate-smart agriculture. Through the START Youth Training Centre and the RWANI programme, we support participants to improve nutrition, create sustainable livelihoods, and build resilient farming enterprises in their communities.
What We Do
Our Programmes
START Initiative implements two complementary programmes designed to address the interconnected challenges of youth unemployment, food insecurity, and limited economic opportunities in rural communities. While both programmes use agriculture as a pathway for change, they are tailored to the specific needs of rural youth and rural women, ensuring targeted, practical, and sustainable impact.
